Magnesium and manganese alloyed material is particularly suitable to produce aluminium groove coverings. This metallurgical process guarantees increased vibration resistance and good fracture toughness while reducing the thermal expansion of this material. We can simply say that the material for COMAX FALC with aluminium core with a thickness of 0.7 mm from AlMn1Mg0.5 alloy designed for single and double standing seams, does not break, does not crack and is ideally ductile for complex details. Aluminium alloys are the most widely used metal construction materials worldwide for their perfect properties. An alloy with a precise ratio of trace elements AlMn1Mg0,5 is a hardened material with high weather resistance and ideal corrosion resistance. The main advantage of this material with a softened steel core for a standing seam is a lower thermal expansion, whereby the sheet changes its volume considerably less as a result of temperature changes. A very important factor affecting the lifetime of the seamed sheet is the frequent underestimation of material expansion or poor application of suitable sliding and fixed clips for fitting COMAX FALC 25. This is often accompanied by undesirable corrugations, unpleasant noise and, later also low anchoring strength of the roofing in the wooden underlayer. As with other building materials, the influence of thermal expansion on metal roofing sheets is influenced by the ambient temperature. It changes during the year and may vary from -20° to 80° C. As a result of these temperature changes, the volume of the materials used varies considerably, thereby the length of COMAX FALC sheetsincreases or decreases. For steel coils intended for folded connections, the expansion of the material is significantly lower than for COMAX FALC aluminium alloys. When fitting, make sure that the fixed and sliding clips are positioned correctly. In order to prevent undesirable corrugations, which is often accompanied by a noticeable noise of the roofing, it is necessary to follow the installation procedures and valid standards during assembly.

PRODUCTION OF COMAX FALC ROOFING

Production of COMAX FALC roofing is tailored to each roof according to the processed and enclosed layout plan. The maximum production length of the elements for handling and transportation is 8000 mm. COMAX ROOFS also offers the OPTION OF DELIVERING METAL IN A COIL FOR PROFILING ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITE, where the production of sheets can be extended up to 15,000 mm using corresponding clips with a longer slide track.
